René is a Stockholm-based product designer, currently crafting social experiences at Spotify. Before that, he was at Hugo & Marie, working with clients like The Row, Saint Laurent and STUDIOTWENTYSEVEN.



Inviting consumers to the world of The Row while maintaining the brand’s core essence 






An overview

The Row is an American luxury fashion label established by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in 2006. It has established itself as a leading force in the fashion industry. For nearly two decades, The Row has been shrouded in mystery, with no loud digital or physical presence. 

While at Hugo & Marie, I was consulting on both functional and visual components of The Row’s digital experience. I partnered with the brand’s development team to design, test and execute vital advancements of the live site and ideate future expressions. 

I produced social and email content to promote new collections, their monthly curated Spotify playlists, and cultural showcases of art as part of their education initiative. Interacting with The Row customer in a way that makes sense for the brand, and for the customer. 

We took an experimental approach, A/B testing different types of content and iterating to drive higher CTR. 

I also got the honor of pitching new ideas for cultural showcases (which involved art research) and even had Mary-Kate herself review and select some of my work to be used.
